It was just because I made a good impression on this one person years ago,” she said.

Stormy Buonantony will be a side-line reporter for ESPN college football and UFL in Fall 2024, which is her fourth season on the ESPN platform. She has reported from packed college football stadiums and presented long-form features that capture the excitement and humanity of college football.

Buonantony worked with ESPN broadcaster Dave Flemming throughout the 2021 college football season. It was her first complete year sidelines ESPN, Flemming found Buonantony “remarkable for her intelligence and ability to adapt during games.

“She’s extremely fun to be around in that she doesn’t have a big ego,” Flemming says. “She doesn’t make it about herself. She’s got a great attitude every game and she can find what’s fun and interesting about any game that we do. In our business, a lot of times, people will say that a game stinks. That’s not Stormy. She’ll work to find what’s interesting and exciting about any event we do.”

Flemming has never had a teammate with a better ability to dissect the post-match press conference with coaches after the game.

The first big time Buonantony got to work in hockey was when he became a rink-side reporter for the Vegas Golden Knights, a new hockey team in a new city. She joined in August 2019 when rinkside reporter Alyson Lozoff’s contract was not renewed.

Stormy Buonantony was known for her self-deprecating sense of humor and friendly on-air delivery. Buonantony also worked during games and was the host of AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain’s weekly “Knight Life” show.

Buonantony describes her reporting by the rinkside as an opportunity to connect with players and coaches to tell impactful stories to fans. Hockey was her most demanding task, but she was able to handle it. She wasn’t a born athlete and had to learn the sport from the beginning.

A way out of Golden Knights
